Many people around the world have a snake phobia, and it takes a unique person with specialized skills to handle wild animals such as these. This snake was rescued by our Costa Rican guide from a private residence. He kept the animal overnight so that we could photograph it before he took it to a safe place to be released. Boas are generally nocturnal and survive on a variety of small animals including birds and rodents. They are found in Central and South America.
