About Inscape Art Photography

Michael Potts is a photographer, writer, and philosopher who lives in Coats, North Carolina. His photograph, 'R'yleh,' was co-winner of the 2015 Cape Fear New Music Festival Photography Contest. His current position is Professor of Philosophy at Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Besides fine art photography, landscapes, and horror photography, Michael has written three novels, all published by WordCrafts Press in Tullahoma, Tennessee: End of Summer, a Southern fiction novel, Obedience, a horror novel, and Unpardonable Sin, also a horror novel. WordCrafts has also published Aerobics for the Mind, a book of practical exercises designed to make philosophy fun. He also has a poetry collection published: Hiding from the Reaper and other Horror Poems. In philosophy, he has edited, with Paul Byrne and Richard Nilges, the anthology, Beyond Brain Death: The Case against Brain-Based Criteria for Human Death. He has over twenty journal articles published, over fifteen encyclopedia articles, as well as multiple book reviews. He also enjoys chess, vegetable gardening, and canning. Michael lives near Coats with his wife, Karen, and their four cats: Frodo, Pippin, Rosie, and Bilbo.
